Corinne Rieder Receives the 2014 David H. Solomon Memorial Public Service Award from AGS
Corinne H. Rieder, EdD, will receive the American Geriatrics Society’s (AGS) David H. Solomon Memorial Public Service Award for her body of work dedicated to improving the lives and health of older Americans. Dr. Rieder is the Executive Director and Treasurer of the John A. Hartford Foundation of New York. She will receive the award on Thursday, May 15, at AGS’ Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
Corinne H. Rieder, EdD, will receive the American Geriatrics Society’s (AGS) David H. Solomon Memorial Public Service Award for her body of work dedicated to improving the lives and health of older Americans. Dr. Rieder is the Executive Director and Treasurer of the John A. Hartford Foundation of New York. She will receive the award on Thursday, May 15, at AGS’ Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
Dr. Rieder has been instrumental in making grants and initiating programs that put geriatrics expertise to work in all health care settings by:
• Advancing practice change and innovation;
• Supporting team-based care through interdisciplinary education of all health care providers; and
• Developing and disseminating new evidence-based models that deliver better, more cost-effective health care.
“I am honored to receive such a remarkable award from the American Geriatrics Society, in remembrance of my friend Dr. David Solomon,” Dr. Rieder said. “David was a passionate leader, incredibly dedicated to improving older adults’ health, an important pioneer in the field of geriatrics, and someone who cared deeply about caring for people. These are values that I have been proud to advance through my work with the John A. Hartford Foundation.”
