FAIR Health Brief: Price-Informed Shared Decision Making for Diverse Older Adults
FAIR Health has published a new brief on how price-informed shared decision-making tools can facilitate conversations between clinicians, diverse older adults and their family caregivers.
The brief draws on discussions with clinicians at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and Ryan Health. All three sites are Age-Friendly Health Systems participants in New York City.
Among the findings, clinicians said the tools help older adults and family caregivers better understand diagnoses and treatment options, particularly around Alzheimer's disease and end-of-life care. They also emphasized the importance of offering both digital and printed versions to meet patients' varying needs.
