Hartford Foundation in Chronicle of Philanthropy on Social Impact Exchange
The John A. Hartford Foundation was recently featured in a piece by The Chronicle of Philanthropy on its participation in the Social Impact Exchange (SIE), a membership organization that includes many foundations interested in expanding proven programs. The Foundation has been a member of SIE’s health group and has nominated two of its successful grantees’ programs that are ready to expand: the Center to Advance Palliative Care and the IMPACT model for depression care.

On foundations that aspire to make headway against social problems, Christopher Langston, Program Director, is quoted as saying, “The big idea here is that to have really substantial national or international impact on the social problems that face us, we need more than the resources that any of us have alone. The notion of trying to bring partners together to invest in the best projects is very appealing.”
