The Home Centered Care Institute (HCCI) has released a guide, "COVID-19 Today and Tomorrow - Home Based Primary Care Practice Guide to Reopening."

When the COVID-19 outbreak hit, many home-based primary care (HBPC) practices began to conduct many, if not all, house calls virtually to avoid exposing patients and caregivers to possible infection – along with providers.

As the pandemic evolves and states reopen, many of these practices have already fully reopened, or are in the process of reopening. As they do, they’re looking to do so in the most effective way possible, ensuring the right mix of in-person and virtual visits for each patient, while prioritizing the safety and well-being of patients, caregivers and providers. In addition, while practices are returning to their “business as usual” house call schedules, it’s critical that their precautions and pre-visit telephone triage screening processes are also remaining in place.

To help practices during this time, HCCI has developed a HBPC Practice Guide to Reopening that provides an overview of the strategies and tactical measures home-based practices should consider as they reopen. HCCI has also released several other relevant guides including "Telehealth During COVID-19" and "Remote Patient Monitoring."
