NASEM Serious Illness Care Research Workshop: Exploring Current Knowledge, Emerging Evidence and Future Directions

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Roundtable on Quality Care for People with Serious Illness is holding a public workshop in Washington DC, November 2-3 on, "Serious Illness Care Research: Exploring Current Knowledge, Emerging Evidence and Future Directions." Participation will be available both in-person and virtually.

The workshop will explore existing evidence, knowledge gaps, and opportunities to advance future serious illness care research. Workshop presentations and discussions will cover topics such as:

  • improving the evidence base for serious illness care research;
  • inclusive research approaches to advance health equity;
  • quality measurement for serious illness care; and
  • implementation of research into practice and more.

Day 1: Thursday, November 2, 2023, 8:30 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. ET
Day 2: Friday, November 3, 2023, 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. ET
