The National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) has published a blog, "States Explore Strategies to Advance Palliative Care at #NASHPCONF18."

The article discusses the work that NASHP is doing with state leaders to expand and improve palliative care, explore how these services align with other initiatives (such as value-based purchasing and delivery system reform), and identify what states need to effectively advance palliative care services.

Some key themes and opportunities are noted that were raised by state leaders during a NASHP 2018 State Health Policy Conference session that explored palliative care services from a policymaker perspective.

NASHP's 'Supporting the Continuum of Palliative Care, A Resource Hub for State Policymakers' is funded by JAHF.
