New York State: Master Plan for Aging

New York State Master Plan for Aging 1

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul has released the final report for New York’s first-ever Master Plan for Aging.

The Master Plan for Aging (MPA), led by the New York State (NYS) Department of Health, the NYS Office for the Aging and the NYS Department of State, is the product of a collaborative effort with dozens of stakeholders inside and outside of government. The MPA includes 9 pillars of core support areas and 126 proposals to better serve the aging population, building upon New York's status as a nation-leader in aging policy.

In Governor Kathy Hochul's press release, Terry Fulmer, JAHF president, said, "We applaud everyone involved in the creation of this robust blueprint for action and look forward to working with partners to prioritize and implement the proposed recommendations so that our state's health systems and all sectors become age-friendly.”
