NPA Applauds Congressional Testimony by Dr. Joanne Lynn of Altarum on Need for Innovation in Elderly Care
The National PACE Association (NPA) noted the testimony of Dr. Joanne Lynn to the House Ways and Means Committee at a November Hearing entitled, "Caring for Aging Americans."
Joanne Lynn, MD, who leads Altarum’s work on elder care, focused on new models to expand long-term services and supports (LTSS) in her testimony. She pointed to the importance of continuity of care for elders with long-term care needs and their caregivers.
“Multidisciplinary care teams with a deep knowledge of community supportive services are a proven way to support elders in the community,” she said, but the availability is rare outside of Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE®).
