Primary Care Progress Blog Features Hartford Poll on Patient-Centered Medical Homes

Program director Dr. Christopher Langston and program officer Marcus Escobedo recently co-authored an article in Primary Care Progress' (PCP) blog that looked into the findings from the foundation's most recent public opinion poll, "On Your Team: What Older Adults Think about Team Care and Medical Home Services." The poll's results disbanded serveral tired stereotypes about older adults and health care innovation.

Program director Dr. Christopher Langston and program officer Marcus Escobedo recently co-authored an article in Primary Care Progress' (PCP) blog that looked into the findings from the foundation's most recent public opinion poll, "On Your Team: What Older Adults Think about Team Care and Medical Home Services." The poll's results disbanded serveral tired stereotypes about older adults and health care innovation.

The poll, which was commissioned by the Hartford Foundation, dispelled many stereotypes regarding older adults' perception of health care innovation. Contrary to certain stereotypes, the poll results indicated a "huge vote of confidence for team-based care and the key services of the patient-centered medical home" by older adults. However, despite the support by older adults, perfecting the model and primary care reinvention has proved to be an complex process.
