Virtual Patient Cases from the American Geriatrics Society for Surgical and Related Medical Sub-Specialties
The American Geriatrics Society (AGS) has made geriatrics virtual patient case modules for surgical and related medical sub-specialties available on the AMA Ed Hub.
The Geriatrics Virtual Patient Case (VPC) Modules are focused on the geriatrics' aspects of surgical and related medical subspecialty care of older adults. The free CME modules were developed in collaboration with the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) and funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation.
The newly posted modules are:
- Case 1: Goal of Care and Shared Decision Making for a Patient with Colon Cancer and Possible Metastases
- Case 2: Assessing Capacity, Goals of Care, and Decision Making in the Context of a Patient With an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and Comorbidities
- AGS Geriatrics Virtual Patient Cases for Assessing and Counseling Older Drivers
Virtual Patient Cases from AGS provides healthcare professionals, including surgical and related medical subspecialists, virtual patient simulations of clinical encounters related to the care of older adults.
