The Geriatric Emergency Department Collaborative (GEDC) held a webinar on May 11, "ED-based Models of Telehealth for Older Adults."

The webinar gave tips on setting up a telehealth system in an emergency department (ED) and an overview of CMS regulation changes allowing for more telehealth utilization and reimbursement during the COVID pandemic.

Telehealth providers offered best clinical tips in effectively diagnosing and treating older adults using telehealth, and leaders in emergency medicine telehealth explained how to set up systems to care for older adults at home, in nursing homes, and in rural hospitals with telehealth. The webinar also explored models of “forward triage” to safely help older adults receive care in the best location.
