National Family Caregivers Month

NFCM RAISE

Every November, National Family Caregivers Month (NFCM) recognizes and honors family and friend caregivers. JAHF joins the Administration for Community Living, the Caregiver Action Network and other partners in the month-long campaign to raise awareness of caregiving issues, educate communities, and increase support for the more than 53 million caregivers across the country.

The Caregiver Action Network (CAN) leads the observance of National Family Caregivers Month, and has selected "Caregiving in Crisis," as this year's theme to address the new realities that family caregivers face during these uncertain times.

In addition, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) is highlighting NFCM with social shares and links to information about the RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council. The RAISE Act Council is charged with providing recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services on effective models of both family caregiving and support to family caregivers, as well as improving coordination across federal government programs. JAHF partners with the ACL and supports the RAISE Act Family Caregiver Resource and Dissemination Center at the National Academy of State Health Policy (NASHP). The National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) has partnered with ACL, NASHP and JAHF on a series of vignettes that highlight real caregivers’ stories to help raise the voices of America’s caregivers as well as to to add the caregiver voice into the work of the RAISE Family Caregiver Advisory Council.
