The Conversation Project: Planning for National Healthcare Decisions Day

NHDD 2024 1 5x

The Conversation Project has created a resource page to help organizations plan for National Healthcare Decisions Day, which occurs every April 16 to inspire, educate and empower the public and providers about the importance of advance care planning. An annual community planning call was held on February 14.

National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD) is a series of independent events held across the country, supported by a national media and public education campaign. Since 2016, The Conversation Project has been responsible for the management of NHDD, which brings the healthcare, legal and religious community together to demystify healthcare decision-making and promote the topic of advance care planning. NHDD helps people understand that advance healthcare decision-making includes much more than living wills; it is a process that should focus first on conversation and choosing an agent.

The Conversation Project has created an NHDD webpage that serves as a one-stop shop for all NHDD resources. A new FAQ blog explains the resources, offers suggestions for getting started and points to an NHDD participation map.
