NHCOA and DEC Webinar: Perspectives from Health Researchers in Advancing Health Equity in Diverse Communities, Part 1

Allof Us

The National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA) and the Diverse Elders Coalition (DEC) are hosting a webinar, "Perspectives from Health Researchers in Advancing Health Equity in Diverse Communities, Part 1," to discuss the All of Us Research Program.

Webinar speakers will talk about the importance of collecting health research data from diverse populations and its benefits for researchers and health practitioners and the persisting health inequities and barriers that have prevented communities of color, LGBTQ+ communities, American Indian/Alaska Native communities and others from participating in health research. They will explain how the All of Us Research Program resolves these inequities, making it easier for diverse communities to participate in health research.

The All of Us Research Program from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is a historic effort to collect and study data from one million or more people living in the United States. People who join share information about their health, habits, and what it's like where they live. The goal of the program is better health for all of us. The All of Us Research Program is committed to recruiting a diverse participant pool that includes members of groups that have been left out of research in the past.

Invited speakers include:

  • Fayron Epps, PhD, RN
  • Florencia Gonzalez, MPH
