Strengthening Policy to Support Older Adults and Their Caregivers: General Operating Support (JIA)

Grant Summary

General operating support grants to Justice in Aging and three other advocacy organizations - the Center for Medicare Advocacy, Community Catalyst and PHI - will help ensure access to high-quality health care for older adults and support for family caregivers. Each of these organizations has a particular focus on groups that face disproportionate burdens and poorer health outcomes such as low-income older adults, older adults of color and the direct care workers who care for them.

Justice in Aging is a national non-profit legal advocacy organization that fights senior poverty through law. It focuses its advocacy on issues related to beneficiaries who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, home and community-based services, oral health and elder abuse, among other issues. Justice in Aging accomplishes its goals through trainings for advocates; monitoring, analyzing and publicizing changes in public policy on key issue areas; and strategic litigation that has the potential to win changes in public policy and systems.
