GEDC Resource: CMS Measure Support Guide for EDs
The Geriatric Emergency Department Collaborative (GEDC) has developed a guide to help emergency departments (EDs) understand how their care processes can support hospitals in meeting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Age-Friendly Hospital Measure.
The guide shows how the five domains of the CMS measure align with the Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms Framework (What Matters, Medication, Mentation and Mobility) and Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) care processes.
The resource also provides supporting evidence and practical tools to help EDs implement age-friendly care and advocate for resources to improve care for older adults.
