AARP "Caregiver Quality of Life" Design and Innovation Challenge
AARP has launched a "Caregiver Quality of Life" Design and Innovation Challenge at HxRefactored, to help improve caregivers' quality of life through design based innovation.
Approximately 40 million Americans are caregivers and though they are unpaid, the economic value of their care is about $470 billion per year. We rely heavily on these caregivers to provide care to our aging population - but caregivers are burdened financially, emotionally, and physically with increased likelihood of mental and chronic health conditions.
Can you create a tech-enabled solution designed to improve the quality of life for caregivers? The national challenge presents a unique opportunity to support ongoing efforts in the caregiving space and catalyze innovation by bringing new players to the table – designers, developers, digital technology start-ups, entrepreneurs, and other visionaries – who may traditionally function outside the healthcare realm. The prize pool includes a total of $20,000 and an opportunity to meet with the AARP team, so don't miss out!
Challenge Deadline: September 5th, 2017.
