AARP Movies for Grownups: Screening of "Caregiving"

Movies for Grownups AARP Caregiving 3

As part of AARP’s Movies for Grownups Screening Program, a free online screening of the documentary Caregiving will take place on Thursday, November 6, at 8 p.m. ET.

AARP's Movies for Grownups series spotlights films that resonate with older audiences and help fight ageism in entertainment. Participation is free, and AARP membership is not required.

From executive producer Bradley Cooper, Caregiving tells the story of paid and unpaid caregivers navigating the challenges and joys of this deeply meaningful work. Intertwining intimate personal stories with the untold history of caregiving, the documentary explores systemic issues in the U.S. care system—where between 53 million and 105.6 million adults provide unpaid caregiving for ill, aging or disabled family members and friends—while spotlighting the lived experiences of caregivers.

The film, co-funded by JAHF and other various partners, premiered nationally on PBS on June 24 and has been available for streaming on PBS platforms since May 27. In addition to the film, the project includes more than 25 original digital shorts on Caregiving Resources and invites caregivers to share their own stories using the hashtag #WellBeings or via wellbeings.org/share-your-story.
