ADBI Blog: Build vs. Buy - Addressing Health Care Questions in Your Value Proposition
The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a)-led Aging and Disability Business Institute has published a blog, “Build vs. Buy: Addressing Health Care Questions in Your Value Proposition.”
Over the last several years there has been a drive toward the integration of health care and social services. This has left many health systems with the decision to build or buy social services, which are often provided by Community-Based Organizations (CBOs). The blog discusses the decision making drivers for health systems as well as the barriers health systems and CBOs may face when making partnerships.
The blog also speaks about the Age Friendly Health Systems movement and includes a quote from JAHF Program Officer Jane Carmody, DNP, MBA, RN, “The Business Institute’s particular strength, helping CBOs access health systems and payers, is a critical component to realizing the goals of Age-Friendly Care.”
