ADvancing States: Announcement of States Selected for Phase Two of ARPA HCBS Technical Assistance Program
ADvancing States has announced the states selected for a second phase of short-term, intensive technical assistance to State Medicaid programs to facilitate and expedite state implementation of the ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) HCBS Funding Initiative.
For this program, states were selected for two different tracks. For Track 1, five states will receive assistance in developing a comprehensive Project Management Plan for some or all of their ARPA HCBS initiatives. Track 1 States are:
- Hawaii
- New Jersey
- North Dakota
- South Carolina
- Texas
For Track 2, twelve states were selected to participate in one of two Affinity Groups on initiatives of common interest across the states: Direct Service Workforce Recruitment and Retention Strategies and Enabling Technology to Expand Access to HCBS. Track 2 Direct Service Workforce Recruitment and Retention Strategies States are:
- Alabama
- Arizona
- Connecticut
- District of Columbia
- Illinois
- Kentucky
- Minnesota
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Washington
- Wyoming
Track 2 Enabling Technology to Expand Access to HCBS States are:
- Arizona
- Connecticut
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Kentucky
- Minnesota
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Virginia
- Washington
- Wyoming
In this second phase of technical assistance, the original supporters---The SCAN Foundation, the Milbank Memorial Fund, and The John A. Hartford Foundation---have been joined by an additional foundation—Arnold Ventures—in supporting this effort. The second phase began on March 15, 2022 and ends on June 13, 2022.
