Age-Friendly Care DxQI Seed Grant Awarded by the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine
The Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine (SIDM) has announced the University of Rochester Medical Center as the Age-Friendly Care DxQI Seed Grant Program awardee for its project, "Improving EMS Assessment of Geriatric Fall Patients: An Opportunity for Improving Diagnoses in the Prehospital Care Setting."
The DxQI Seed Grant Program is a competitive $50,000 grant program funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation to support quality improvement interventions that improve diagnosis. The DxQI program focuses on a “bottom-up” approach, where frontline health professionals and patients develop and test plausible solutions that have the potential for scale and spread. Through support from JAHF, the program also includes an Age-Friendly Care DxQI Seed Grant awardee who will implement a project to improve diagnostic quality and safety for older adults.
JAHF has also supported SIDM and the National Academy of Medicine to support a fellow and scholar in diagnostic excellence for older adults.
