AGS Announces 2014 T. Franklin Williams and Jahnigen Career Development Award Scholars
Earlier this month, the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) announced the new cohort of T. Franklin Williams and Jahnigen Career Development Award Scholars for 2014. Both the Williams and Jahnigen Awards provide supplemental career development support to academic geriatricians or medical and surgical subspecialists who have received a National Institute on Aging (NIA) GEMSSTAR Award (Grants for Early Medical/Surgical Subspecialists’ Transition to Aging Research).
Earlier this month, the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) announced the new cohort of twelve T. Franklin Williams and Jahnigen Career Development Award Scholars for 2014. Both the Williams and Jahnigen Awards provide supplemental career development support to academic geriatricians or medical and surgical subspecialists who have received a National Institute on Aging (NIA) GEMSSTAR Award (Grants for Early Medical/Surgical Subspecialists’ Transition to Aging Research).
The 2014 Williams Award is a joint award from the AGS Health in Aging Foundation and the Society of Hospital Medicine and is also supported by the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine and the Atlantic Philanthropies. The Jahnigen Awards are supported by the Atlantic Philanthropies, the John A. Hartford Foundation and the following specialty societies: American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons, American Urological Association, Emergency Medicine Foundation, Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research, Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation, Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and Society for Vascular Surgery.
