AHA-HRET: AHA, CAPC Offer Palliative Care Strategies, Tools Aimed at Quality and Value
The American Hospital Association's (AHA) Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) Vice President, Clinical Quality, Marie Cleary-Fishman, has written an article on AHA Stat Blog, "AHA, CAPC Offer Palliative Care Strategies, Tools Aimed at Quality and Value."
In the article, Dr. Cleary-Fishman talks about AHA's recent announcement of a strategic partnership with the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) to improve patient care for people living with serious illness at hospitals and health systems across the country.
"Our goal is to grow access to palliative care and adoption of a multidisciplinary, person-centric approach that achieves better outcomes and greater value...What’s needed are increased acceptance of palliative care as a key strategy among hospital and health system leaders, as well as easier access to palliative care education and training."
CAPC and AHA have created a digital Palliative Care Support Hub "where hospitals and health systems can go 24/7 to find everything they need for designing, measuring and expanding palliative care services that put patients first."
