American College of Surgeons Geriatric Surgery Verification Program Application Portal Open
The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Geriatric Surgery Verification (GSV) Program, launched this July, is now open for hospitals to apply and formally enroll in the program.
The GSV program is a standardized surgical quality improvement framework for the optimal care of the geriatric surgical patient, generalizable to more than 4,000 facilities regardless of size, location, or teaching status. The 32 new surgical standards (2 of which are optional) were collaboratively developed by the ACS Coalition for Quality in Geriatric Surgery Project, composed of more than 50 stakeholder organizations representing the needs of older patients and families, advocacy and regulatory groups, health care professionals, and multiple medical and surgical specialties.
