A recent Associated Press article highlights a national survey of physicians sponsored by The John A. Hartford Foundation, the Cambia Health Foundation, and the California Health Care Foundation showing widespread support for a new Medicare benefit covering advance care planning conversations between patients and providers. The article notes that these discussions "...have been spreading across the U.S. in the months since Medicare started paying for conversations on end-of-life planning. Seven years after that very idea spurred fears of 'death panels,' supporters hope lingering doubts will fade."
