International City/County Management Association and NASHP 2026 Survey Results: Local Government Support for Family Caregiving
The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the National Academy for State Policy (NASHP), with support from JAHF, have released 2026 national survey results on, "Local Government Support for Family Caregiving."
The January 2026 national survey of local governments was conducted by ICMA, NASHP and JAHF to assess the extent to which local governments are aware of and taking action on family caregiving needs. The results suggest opportunities for local governments to leverage their unique capacity as employers, as trusted community voices, and as leaders in policymaking and budgeting to help connect family caregivers with available resources.
