Applications for 2013 Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) Program due Jan. 31

The American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for the 2013 Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) Program. The MSTAR program provides medical students with an enriching experience in aging-related research and geriatrics, under the mentorship of top experts in the field. Students are provided stipends to conduct full-time research during the summer for a period of 8-12 weeks. Applications are due on January 31, 2013. The program was developed to encourage medical students - particularly budding researchers - to consider a career in academic geriatrics. The MSTAR program provides medical students with an enriching experience in aging-related research and geriatrics, under the mentorship of top experts in the field. Students are provided stipends to conduct full-time research during the summer for a period of 8-12 weeks. Up to 130 scholarships will be awarded in 2013. Applications are due on January 31, 2013, and applicants will be notified of the decision around March 15, 2013.
