Applicants Selected for Columbia Journalism School's Age Boom Academy 2022 Media Training

Columbia Age Academy2022

Columbia University's Robert N. Butler Columbia Aging Center and the Columbia Journalism School have selected their 2022 Fellows for the virtual Age Boom Academy 2022 on "Caregiving and Our Longer Lives–The $500 Billion Question."

This signature press training on issues around aging is being held over four sessions on Oct 13, 14, 20 and 21. This year features the missing stories around the impact of longevity on the need for caregiving, including the U.S. reliance on an informal caregiving economy, the price families and employers pay, the role of health systems, issues of equity and access, and innovative solutions. Caregivers, innovators who are beginning to disrupt the space, and the policies that are lacking or just getting off the ground to help deal with this crisis will all be covered.

Featured speakers from the media include Paula Span (New York Times The New Old Age columnist), Michelle Cottle (New York Times editorial board member), and Rich Eisenberg.
