Apply: NIA IMPACT Collaboratory Accepting Applications for Career Development Award and Demonstration Project Program

NIA IMPACT

The NIA IMPACT Collaboratory is currently accepting applications for two funding opportunities, the IMPACT Career Development Award and IMPACT’s new Demonstration Project Program.

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Imbedded Pragmatic Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Dementias (AD/ADRD) Clinical Trials (IMPACT) Collaboratory seeks to transform the delivery, quality, and outcomes of care provided to Americans living with dementia and their care partners by accelerating the testing and adoption of evidence-based interventions within healthcare systems.

The NIA IMPACT Collaboratory has two current funding opportunities:

  • The IMPACT Career Development Award supports the development of early-stage investigators interested in a research career that includes embedded Pragmatic Clinical Trials (ePCT) of non-pharmacological interventions in health care systems for people living with AD/ADRD and their care partners. These awards are funded for two years and provide $100,000 annually in direct costs. Proposals due: April 2, 2021
  • The IMPACT Demonstration Projects designed as full-scale, Stage IV effectiveness ePCTs (based on the NIH Stage Model) that test non-pharmacological interventions for people living with AD/ADRD and their care partners embedded within and linked to the needs of a health care system. The goal is to generate evidence on effective care delivery practices that can be expanded and/or implemented in other systems. Preference will be given to applications for Demonstration Projects that address dementia care for populations traditionally marginalized or underrepresented in clinical trials and those that promote health equity. These awards are for up to $500,000 in direct costs. Proposals due: April 30, 2021.
