ASA Generations Now Article Series: Community-based Integrated Care Networks

Generations Now series

The American Society on Aging (ASA) is publishing a series of four articles about community-based integrated care networks in Generations Now. The first two articles in are available. The most recent one is "Big Aims, A Clear Path to Reach Them."

JAHF, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and The SCAN Foundation fund the Aging and Disability Business Institute (Business Institute), led by USAging. The mission of the Business Institute is to build and strengthen partnerships between aging and disability community-based organizations and the healthcare system.

As partners in the Business Institute, ASA and USAging are collaborating on a series of articles and case studies in Generations Now that highlight community-based integrated care networks. The articles published so far are:

  • Big Aims, A Clear Path to Reach Them, by Alison Biggar, ASA’s editorial director. The article highlights how the SAGECare training program is driving organizations to deliver culturally competent LGBTQ+ older adult care.
  • LA’s Alliance for Community Health and Aging Shows How Collaboration Pays Off, by Alison Biggar, ASA’s editorial director. The article showcases how the Los Angeles Alliance for Community Health and Aging (LAACHA) promotes innovations in health equity and is bridging multisector partnerships to foster healthy aging in diverse older adult populations.
