CAPC Blogs: On SIP Alternative Payment Model Insights and on Bringing Palliative Care to Medicare Advantage Populations
The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) has released two blogs: "FAQs on the New Seriously Ill Population (SIP) Alternative Payment Model Option," and, "Progress and Barriers Bringing Palliative Care to Medicare Advantage Populations."
The first blog explains the SIP component of the Primary Care First Medicare Fee-for-Service alternative payment model, including what it entails, who can participate, how the SIP payment works and where to find more information.
The second blog details lessons from the first convening of a new Medicare Advantage (MA) Learning Community. This peer learning program brings together payers who are grappling with how best to improve access to palliative care for MA members and to share best practices. The John A. Hartford Foundation is one of the funders of this work through the 6 Foundation Collaborative.
