California Social Work Education Center 2014 Aging Summit
“On the Road: Preparing Social Workers for an Interprofessional Environment” is the theme of the California Social Work Education Center's 2014 Aging Initiative Summit, which will be held on February 5 at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West. The 2014 summit will serve as a bridge from the inaugural summit held in 2012 that introduced the changing landscape of health care service delivery for older adults.

Speakers will include:
- Jeffrey Edleson, Ph.D., Dean of Social Welfare, UC Berkeley, who will welcome participants;
- David Cherin, Director, CSU, Fullerton School of Social Work and Mariko Yamada, Assemblymember 4th AD, Chair, Assembly Aging & Long-Term Care Committee, who will ofer welcoming remarks; and
- Nora O’Brien-Suric, Ph.D., Senior Program Officer at the John A. Hartford Foundation, who will keynote the plenary session.

Working Session
The 2014 summit will be a working session for partners and stakeholders to review available curricula and field work, identify gaps in those areas, and develop recommendations that will provide social workers the skills to practice in an integrated health care environment serving a growing aging population. Summit participants will:
- Review pre-summit webinars;
- Review curricula (presented in Webinar II) and identify necessary additions or modifications;
- Discuss current field practicums and strategies for expansion;
- Consider successful interprofessional models of practice (presented in Webinar III) as a context for understanding curriculum and field practicum needs;
- Prepare a curriculum and field practicum roadmap and develop recommendations for next steps.
