Call for Applications: The Journalists in Aging Fellows Program 2025
The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and the Journalists Network on Generations are now accepting applications for the 16th Journalists in Aging Fellows Program.
The fellowship is open to U.S.-based staff and freelance reporters from general, ethnic or community media. It provides a $1,500 stipend along with travel, lodging and meals to support attendance at GSA’s Annual Scientific Meeting in Boston on November 12–15, 2025. Fellows are expected to produce two aging-focused stories: a short news piece by December 31, 2025, and a long-form article by April 1, 2026, drawing on access to leading experts and the latest research. The application deadline has been extended to Monday, July 28, 2025.
Since launching in 2010, the program has supported 245 journalists and generated over 850 published stories. The program connects reporters with subject matter experts, fosters a community of journalists focused on aging, and promotes the dissemination of accurate information on science, policy and practice to diverse audiences.
