The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) has published a blog, "Celebrating 20 Years of Milestones."

CAPC was established in 1999, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, in order to improve the care of people living with serious illness and their families.

The article details important steps in the palliative care field and in CAPC's history, including CAPC's transformation into a member-based organization (with JAHF support), and 350,000+ course completions of CAPC's online clinical training. The blog notes that palliative care officially became a medical subspecialty for physicians and social workers in 2008, and talks about CAPC's partnership with the American Hospital Association (AHA) on a Palliative Care Support Hub.
