The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) has published a blog, "Using Palliative Care to Support Equitable Care in the Midst of COVID-19."
COVID-19 has highlighted and accelerated racial inequities in the U.S. health care system. This blog overviews the dynamics of the COVID-19-related health and health care inequities, which have chiefly affected African Americans. The blog also explores palliative care’s role in caring for impacted patients and families, and provides CAPC tools to support these efforts.
"Palliative care teams have an opportunity to be among the leaders in restoring trust and preserving the dignity of care for those disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic."
