The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) held a webinar briefing June 18, "The Future of Palliative Care During COVID-19 and Beyond."
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, teams across the country are demonstrating that palliative care expertise is critically important for patients, colleagues, and health care organizations. The public health crisis is bringing to light heroic efforts and innovation within our field. But it is also highlighting a potential burgeoning set of challenges.
During the briefing, Dr. Diane Meier talked about the findings of CAPC’s recent member survey and discussed what palliative care can do to increase and project value while mitigating risk. Dr. Meier's also discussed strategies for navigating uncertain times, including budget cuts, furloughs, and more.
