The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CPAC) held a webinar April 22, “Palliative Care Teams Navigating COVID-19: Lessons from the Frontlines.”
In the webinar, Thomas Morel, MD, and Susan Nelson, MD, shared their palliative care team’s experience with COVID-19 at Oschner Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana. They discussed the impact of COVID-19 thus far, including the challenges, opportunities, and what has (and has not) worked for their team, as well as patients and families. Finally, they shared lessons learned, in an effort to help other palliative care teams preparing for a surge.
