Tipping Point Challenge innovationcategory

The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) has announced that the Innovation Category of the third round of The John A. Hartford Foundation Tipping Point Challenge is open. Initiatives, already implemented with proven outcomes, that are making breakthrough change in the care of serious illness can be submitted by November 14.

The John A. Hartford Foundation Tipping Point Challenge is an innovation and quality improvement challenge to spread palliative care skills among all clinicians. This round of the year-long competition is focusing on two specific goals: 1) increase the number of specialties and disciplines enhancing their skills in communication and symptom management targeted to serious illness, and 2) catalyze innovation that will make positive, breakthrough change in the care of serious illness.

Your innovation will be judged based on the merit of six criteria: Impact; Outcomes; Feasibility; Scalability; Equity; Sustainability. Initiatives must have started after January 1, 2019, and been implemented long enough to show outcomes. CAPC will use a scoring rubric to assess submissions. All submissions will be scored and winners selected by a panel of CAPC expert faculty.

  • Submissions for the innovation category will take place through to the extended November 14 deadline.

CAPC will announce the winners for both categories in March 2024.

Submit to the Innovation Category by November 14.
