CCC Mgmt Code proposed in 2014 Medicare PES Available for Comment Sept 6

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is considering paying primary-care physicians for complex chronic care management services of Medicare patients without an in-person patient visit, among several policy changes in the CMS-proposed Medicare Physician Fee Schedule for 2014. This proposed rule would revise payment polices under the Medicare physician fee schedule, and make other policy changes to payment under Medicare Part B. These changes would be applicable to services furnished on or after January 1 annually. The proposed changes are available for public comment until September 6, 2013.
