Dakota Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program: 4Ms Training Curriculum & Resources
Dakota Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (Dakota Geriatrics), a HRSA GWEP, has several geriatric educational opportunities including Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms training curriculum and resources.
The curricula are available for different target audiences. Educational opportunities include:
- Online Geriatric Curriculum. To provide core knowledge for medicine, nursing, psychology, social work, physical therapy and multidisciplinary professionals, along with competencies for interprofessional practice applying to older adult teams.
- Long-term Care Curriculum for Nursing (Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms). Better Care For Older Adults: A curriculum for all levels of nurses, trainees, and qualified service providers. Microlearning modules on Age-Friendly Healthcare, Quality Improvement, Resiliency, and Infection Control.
- Age-Friendly Healthcare Microlearning for healthcare professionals. Age-Friendly Health Systems adopts the concept of applying a set of four evidence-based frameworks of high-quality care, known as the "4Ms," to all older adults in the healthcare system. The purpose of this curriculum is to provide reinforcement of concepts of Age-Friendly Healthcare and Geriatric 4Ms through microlectures to healthcare professionals.
