Decwebinar

The Diverse Elders Coalition (DEC) and the National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) are holding a webinar on July 23, "Caring in a Pandemic: What's Next for Diverse Caregivers."

The aim of the webinar is to provide resources and information that were identified through polling questions administered in the last five DEC listening sessions series, Caring in a Pandemic. The webinar will focus on how caregivers can self-advocate to increase political investment in supports for diverse caregivers, providing self-advocacy tools. It will also offer tailored resources for diverse unpaid/paid caregivers providing financial and emotional & physical health supports during the pandemic and as we progress towards a post-pandemic world.

Speakers include:

  • Captain Susan V. Karol, MD, FACS, Chief Medical Officer for the CMS Division of Tribal Affairs
  • Robert Espinoza, VP of Policy at PHI, where he oversees its national advocacy, and public education on the direct care workforce.
  • Latoya Thomas, Director of Policy & Government Affairs at Doctor on Demand
  • Lisa Schifferle, Senior Policy Analyst at CFPB for Older Americans, where she leads the Managing Someone Else's Money program and supports work to combat elder financial exploitation
