Jenna McDavid, National Director of the Diverse Elders Coalition, has written an essay published in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, "Family Caregivers in Diverse Communities Need More Community Support."

"The United States is quickly approaching an unprecedented time in our nation’s history: by 2030, Americans over age 65 will outnumber people under the age of 18, according to the U.S. Census Bureau."

The essay discuses the growing shortage of geriatricians and caregivers and its affect on diverse communities in America. It also provides commentary on how COVID-19 is affecting older adults in diverse communities and references the findings from a caregiver survey study recently conducted by the Diverse Elders Coalition in partnership with The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging and funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation.
