GCBH Report: Music and Brain Health

The Global Council on Brain Health (GCBH) has released a report, “Music on Our Minds: The Rich Potential of Music to Promote Brain Health and Mental Well-Being.”

This report examines the relationship between music and cognitive health, particularly in the context of healthy aging. Recommendations are also offered by the GCBH on how individuals can "promote mental well-being, increase social connection, and stimulate thinking skills" by including music as a part of their regular routine. This includes simple activities such as moving and dancing to music - which can engage not only the brain, but also the whole body.

AARP founded the GCBH in collaboration with Age UK.
