GIA: Multisector Plans for Aging Funders Guide
Grantmakers in Aging (GIA) has released a new brief, "Multisector Plans for Aging: Important Roles and Opportunities for Funders."
The Multisector Plans for Aging (MPA) movement provides roadmaps for engaging stakeholders across sectors to improve the experience of aging through innovation, collaboration, and shared accountability. MPAs are designed to address the needs of everyone in the state across the aging and disability continuum — including family caregivers who provide the majority of care for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
This brief examines the fundamentals of the MPA movement and discusses how funders can and should get involved to help advance this essential work. Funders are uniquely positioned to support the process of developing an MPA, potentially serving as advocates and champions of the cause as well as facilitators of consumer and stakeholder engagement. GIA's brief highlights opportunities for funders to collect data that advances accountability and equity for use in program implementation and to scale up promising practices at the regional and national level.
