GIA Webinar: Building the Business Acumen of Community-Based Organizations for Successful Health

On Monday, May 12, 2014, at 2:00pm ET, Grantmakers in Aging (GIA) is hosting a webinar entitled "Building Business Acumen of Community-Based Organizations for Successful Health Care Partnerships." Certain provisions in the health reform law, such as models to integrate care for dual eligibles, and a push for care transition programs, offer new opportunities for community-based aging service providers to contract with health care organizations. Yet many of these organizations lack the necessary business acumen to do so. Foundations throughout the United States, as well as the Administration for Community Living have initiated programs to assist these organizations to overcome this challenge. During this webinar, presenters Marisa Scala- Foley, U.S. Administration for Community Living, Erin Westphal, The SCAN Foundation and Nora OBrien-Suric, The John A. Hartford Foundation will highlight different approaches to build the business acumen of community-based organizations as well as gauging participants’ interest in developing a GIA Learning Circle on this topic.
