Gia 3 11 webinar

Grantmakers in Aging (GIA) held a webinar on March 11, “Get Out the Count: Strategies for Optimizing 2020 Census Participation Among Older People.”

The webinar speakers talked about strategies to optimize 2020 Census participation among older adults, and discussed a toolkit, created by The New York Academy of Medicine, that will aid organizations in optimizing census participation among people age 65 and older, considered a “hard-to-count” population. An accurate count is essential to ensure equitable representation in Congress and adequate funding for programs and services that benefit older adults.

Panelists included:

  • Elana Kieffer, Program Officer, New York Academy of Medicine
  • Alyssa Kies, Policy Associate, New York Academy of Medicine
  • Julio Urbina, PhD, MPH, Vice-President, Director, Healthy Aging Program, The Fan Fox & Leslie R. Samuels Foundation
  • Moderated by John Feather, CEO, Grantmakers In Aging
