Green House Podcast Elevate Eldercare: A Woman of Action Amid an Eldercare Crisis
The Green House Project has released an episode of its podcast series, Elevate Eldercare, featuring an interview with Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN, President of The John A. Hartford Foundation, "A Woman of Action Amid an Eldercare Crisis."
Dr. Fulmer, who holds master’s and doctoral degrees from Boston College, and her Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Post-Master’s Certificate from NYU, talked with Susan Ryan about the history of the Foundation and the three priority areas, including a look at Age-Friendly Health Systems, why they are important, and where to find valuable and practical resources for consumers.
The podcast discusses the COVID-19 crisis, the Foundation’s response to it, and Dr. Fulmer's experience serving on the Coronavirus Commission for Safety and Quality in Nursing Homes. Dr. Fulmer also offers some provocative ideas for elevating eldercare—asking “why not,” and “what if.” She believes it’s time to speak up and speak out in order to find solutions.
