GSA Webinar: Why Reframe? Understanding the Significance and Tools of Reframing Aging and Reframing Elder Abuse

The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) held a webinar on April 30, "Why Reframe? Understanding the Significance and Tools of Reframing Aging and Reframing Elder Abuse."

The Reframing Aging Initiative is a long-term social endeavor designed to improve the public’s understanding of what aging means and the many ways that older people contribute to society. Its sister project, Reframing Elder Abuse, aims to demonstrate how we can restructure our communities to put elder abuse on the public agenda, generate a sense of collective responsibility, and boost support for systemic solutions to prevent and address it. The webinar built awareness of both projects, discussed where they overlap and how we can all learn about the impact of ageism on society.

Presenters included:

  • Patricia M. D’Antonio, BSPharm, MS, MBA, BCGP, Vice President of Professional Affairs, GSA
  • Laurie Gibson Lindberg, Project Manager, Reframing Aging Initiative, GSA
  • Aly Neumann, BA, Project Coordinator, The National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) Reframing Elder Abuse project
