Health Affairs Forefront: Call for Submissions for Age-Friendly Health Through Community Voices
Health Affairs Forefront has released an "Age-Friendly Health Through Community Voices" call for submissions to older adults to share their stories, as well as to anyone involved in the health care of older adults at the community level.
Older adults are invited to submit health care-related stories, experiences, and creative work:
- Personal essay or commentary: write about your health care–related experiences as an older adult or with the health care of older adults in your community. You can submit a commentary on health care–related challenges or share a personal story.
- Interview: if you are working on a unique program or initiative that addresses the health care of older adults, say why you'd be a good candidate for an interview. Health Affairs will ask you questions and turn your responses into a written piece.
- Poetry: submit an original poem that explores your health care–related experiences.
- Visual art: submit photography, digital artwork, illustrations, collages or other forms of creative expression that tell your health care–related story.
Health Affairs is interested in stories across the range of care settings, including primary and specialty care, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home and community-based care, and content related to both paid and unpaid care.
Join an informational call on February 18 at 2 p.m. ET to ask questions and meet the editors.
Submit a summary of your story by March 9. The Health Affairs editorial team will then invite selected authors to provide a complete submission.
Health Affairs also has an open call for peer-review papers for it's Age-Friendly Health series. The goal of the series is to improve health care for older adults by helping guide the policy agenda at the federal, state, and local levels.
