Health Affairs GrantWatch: Strengthening Family Caregiving Policies And Programs Through State Collaboration
Health Affairs GrantWatch has published a blog, "Strengthening Family Caregiving Policies And Programs Through State Collaboration."
In the blog post, authors Courtney Roman, MA, senior program officer, Center for Health Care Strategies, Rani Snyder, MPA, vice president, program, The John A. Hartford Foundation, and Erica Brown, MPP, program officer, the Milbank Memorial Fund, outline opportunities to strengthen family caregiver policies and programs through state collaboration. The blog draws from the experience of states participating in the first phase of a national initiative, "Helping States Support Families Caring for an Aging America," and details a set of key elements that emerged from the initiative for accelerating state program changes to support family caregivers.
The initiative’s second phase is currently recruiting new and returning states to address existing challenges this workforce faces. The goals of this second phase, as well as new obstacles presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, are also highlighted in the blog.
